Body of Kenyan drug baron's kin exhumed E-mail
The body of drug baron Ibrahim Akasha's daughter-in-law was Tuesday exhumed at the Sargoy cemetery in Mombasa under tight security.

The body Mrs. Soud Akasha ,33 which was buried a month ago was exhumed for post-mortem to determine the cause of her death.

Since her death, the police have been conducting investigations Soud was said to have committed suicide when she was found hanging in her Nyali house by her husband, Baktash.

Criminal Investigations Department officers had found loopholes in the statements recorded by family members.

Questions have been raised about her burial, which was hurriedly done allegedly by hired youths.

There were reports that a journalist from a local media house was attacked by police officers as tried to get pictures inside the cemetery.

Police early this month sought a court order to exhume the body. The Ukranian wife of Bakhtash Akasha allegedly hanged herself in one of the children's bedrooms.

She was found hanging in the bedroom at 11pm and was buried early the next morning. Bakhtash is the first-born son of slain drug baron Ibrahim Akasha.

Detectives suspect Soud may have been strangled and later hanged to make it look like suicide. Marks found around her neck during the preliminary visit by the police showed signs of a struggle.

Baktash explained that the family was observing Islamic traditions when they decided to bury Soud.
