Organiser, Bipin Taylor said action revisits the picturesque escarpments in Iten for the third year running. After the cancellation of the city centre spectator stage initially set for February 6, there will be a number of activities as is the tradition of the KCB Foundation. Kepha Bosire, KCB’s Divisional Director of Public Affairs and Communication said the Foundation would carry out its pre-event Community Social Responsibility activity at the Langas Racecourse Heath Centre, Eldoret, where bedding, seedlings and curtain rails will be donated to the institution. The rally has attracted 38 drivers with 31 in the KNRC class and seven in the 2WD class. "The tour of Eldoret is renowned for its challenging features, more so, its hilly stretches incidentally laden with massive drops and a striking viewpoint of the countryside," said Bosire. Speaking at a press briefing at Kencom House yesterday, Bosire said the rally will be flagged off outside Uganda Road’s KCB Eldoret West Branch at 7am on February 7, followed by a liaison distance of 14.8km, leading crews to the 21km CS1 Sergoit-Iten stage." Cars will then head to Iten service in anticipation of a 58km four-stage loop that will be repeated to make up a cumulative competitive mileage of 137.16km. The four stages are Kamukio (7.9km) Bugar-Chebara (14.4 km), Chebiemet-Elgeyo Forest (19.68km) and Singore-Viewpoint (15.8km), which is the gateway to service. |
